A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to inactive email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss emails because the other side has an outdated email address or has made a mistake. The drawback of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of junk emails, but this issue can be resolved using anti-spam filtering software. It is also essential to know that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot redirect incoming emails to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

If you’ve got a shared hosting service with us and you’d like to enable the catch-all feature for a particular email mailbox that you have in your account, it will take literally just a single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve this. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each email address that you have created under any domain name hosted in your account. You can pick one single email address per domain by clicking on the respective button. This will activate the feature momentarily, so all email messages sent to misspelled addresses will be received there. Clicking the button for a second time will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you have enabled email forwarding, our system will exhibit a warning notification and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature until you remove the forwarding or you can simply pick another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The catch-all option can be activated without difficulty if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you’ve created with the domains hosted in the semi-dedicated account will be displayed in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll notice a mini button conveniently located directly next to each of them. With just a single click of the mouse, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choosing as long as there isn't another mailbox under the same domain name with the option already enabled and there isn't activated email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate this option through the menu that will appear. If any of the prerequisites for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not fulfilled, our system will let you know, but will not replace or disable anything automatically.
